Nickel Plate Road - Kentucky Western Division
David Vaughn
The Nickel Plate Road, Kentucky Western Division is an 18'x92' two-rail O Scale
layout comprised of parts of three "heritage" layouts, the best known of which
is John Armstrong's Canandaigua Southern. Set in 1958, it depicts a fictional
NKP line between St. Louis and Pittsburgh Junction, which interchanges with the
western terminus of the Canandaigua Southern. Scenery includes a restored and
extended "Photographers Curve" from the CSRR. The double-track main line ends in
staging loops at each end. Rolling stock is a mix of NKP and CSRR steam and
diesel, equipped with. DCC and sound. The layout is located in the basement and
is not handicapped accessible
