Dan Pence's
Western Maryland Railway
July 30, 2006

Dan’s point-to-point layout is based on the Western Maryland Railway in the coalfields of West Virginia in 1952. The railroad features the operation of multiple "Wild Mary" 2-8-0's and 2-10-0's fighting up Black Fork grade as well as an interchange with Mower Lumber Co. shays. Some scenery is in place, but the forests have yet to grow back after harvesting in the early part of the 20th century. While most of the layout is standard O gauge, parts have been converted to Proto:48, the beginning of a long process.
